This weekend Seen Design installed their Muninn photobooth at the wedding of Bart’s sister. A perfect test for the photobooth since it has never had a rest between 7pm and 5am. Nice concept and product from Seen Design topped up with some good software from Zeropoint.IT

Here are some results showing Bart and me.

Crazy faces

And more crazy faces

Yesterday I had my first Belgian taxi-experience, and if I could predict that all following experiences will be as these, I say to you now: no more Belgian taxi for me, ever

We were invited on the wedding of Katrien and Nicolas, which was a superb wedding by the way, and had to return to our home in Antwerp.

Here is the map with the normal route.

I am a good driver map

And this is what our lovely driver had in mind. Oow, excuse me, was he able to think at all?

I am a shitty driver map

This makes a total of 30 additional kilometers, and an extra 40 minutes of driving time. I don’t need to explain you that at 5:30am you don’t need a fucking scenic trip in the Antwerp Harbour. At the end the counter displayed more than 90 euro. No way we were going to pay that of course. How much did we pay then? (Ooh yes, we had to pay, no getting around that)

This Friday, I went to see a concert of Nancy Vieira in Het Zuiderpershuis. This Capeverdian singer really took us on a travel through the world. Cabo Verde, Portugal, Moçambique, Angola, Brasil and Cuba! She had some really great artists with her on stage from Portugal, Brasil, Peru and Cabo Verde. Great evening out in the city, made me start travelling right away. Next destination, Cabo Verde?

With thanks to the owners of restaurant Cabo Verde for introducing us this great music. I’m becoming a real lusophile.

Once in a while I tend to practice the bits of Turkish I remember from the two months I spent in Turkey for my final work at university. Mostly, I practice at the Turkish shops in the Statiestraat in Berchem, or at a random Kebab place.

So here’s a crashcourse. I’ll try updating it once I remember more and feel more confident in writing Turkish again.

Hello: Merhaba
Good day: Iyi günler
Good evening: Iyi aksamlar (here the s needs a çedi under it, but that functionality is lacking here)
Good night: Iyi geceler
How are you: Nasιlsιn?
I’m (very) good: (çok) iyiyim
And how are you: Sen nasιlsιn?
I’m good as well: Bende iyiyim

A small kebab with garlic sauce please (Ne kleine kebab met looksaus alsjeblieft): Küçük döner kebab sarmιsaklι istiyorum

And last but not least, very important for most of you.

I’m a forest engineer: Ormancιyιm

Just had crème brulée for dessert again. Actually we used up the left-overs from the custard we used yesterday for our Pasteís de Nata. Those last ones unfortunately failed. It was good all over but the dough was not as it was supposed to be. We’ll try again and improve. The Crème brulée was perfect though!
